Stalls photograph showing a section of the Majestic fitted carpet the pattern is named ‘Lava’ all of Mollo’s carpet designs were named and many were exciting and dramatic, some of his cinemas had two designs, with the cinema cafe restaurant having its own. Here on this photograph taken from the circle above of the carpet laid onto the wide gangway between the front and rear stalls sections. This 1935 carpet design was also fitted in the Strand cinema Belfast, where it had also been used as a sound baffle to absorb echo that some cinemas had at that time. Another cinema used this particular design was the Astoria cinema Folkestone.
