Now referred to as “Cinemark Cinedome Henderson 12”, according to the Cinemark website.
Back in business, according to this news article
Correction: It opened on May 14th, 1993. Grand opening ad posted.
You’re thinking of the Cinedome Las Vegas. Henderson opened as 12-plex in 1993 as stated above.
It actually opened in December 1980 as a sixplex. It wasn’t expanded until the early ‘90s. I remember reading the ads in the Review-Journal and seeing “Popeye” as one of the opening features. I no longer live in the area, but a quick search at the archives of both the R-J and Las Vegas Sun newspapers would confirm this.
Still showing first runs in an all digital environment. $4.75 matinees (up a quarter in Fall 2012). Using the Cinemark refillable popcorn bucket and drink cup means a very affordable day/night at the cinema.
No stadium seating but you have your choice of rocker or moving arm-rest (very late 90’s Century-esque).
My only true gripe is that some of the smaller, non-dome screens tend to have a single center aisle instead of two on the side meaning no center seating for those of us who “require” that.
Will take some photos my next trip out.
Opened May 12, 1993

It does have two very low built brown domes. Seems like it hardly made any sense to build them.
Can always use more info and photos.
There is a small picture of the theater here: View link Unlike the other Cinedomes that is or were operated by Cinemark/Century, there does not seem to be anything domelike about it.
