The Orpheum Theatre was opened on August 8, 1914 with 460 seats. Initially presenting vaudville, it later included silent films in its program. It screened its first talkie in 1929. It suffered dame from a fire in 1949. It was taken over by Miner Theatres and renamed Stout Theatre on November 3, 1949 with 400 seats. It was located on Main Street E. at 4th Street.
The theatre closed in 1956 with Elvis Presley in “Love Me Tender”. It was converted into a clinic. The building has now been converted into office use.

The Orpheum Theatre opened August 8, 1914 with 465 seats and Mutual Studio films. On April 13, 1929, the theatre transitioned to sound playing, “The Banker.”
Miner Theatres Circuit rebooted the Orpheum as the new Stout Theatre on November 3, 1949 with yellow acoustic tile and acoustic wall coverings to hide the Orpheum’s dated design. The theatre closed in 1956 and sold to the Menomonie Clinic which flattened the floor and remodeled the space.
Unfortunately, I Accidentally Added Another Orpheum Theatre Here On Accident Because I Accidentally Went On The Michigan Page Instead Of The Wisconsin Page… Well The Location Originally Had A Capacity Of 465 As Of Its Coming Soon Ad From July 1914. However According To The Dunn County News Said That The Orpheum Once Caught On Fire A Couple Of Months Before Renaming To The Stout In 1949.
