The Lyric Theatre opened in 1930 and continued in operation until 1961. In March of 1963 the building was offered for sale to the village or fire department for $10,000. It was not suitable for their needs and in April was sold to Delegar Products, a local manufacturer. They used the building to manufacture perfume and bubble bath under the name Arthur Philippi, Incorporated. When they left it was converted to apartments.
