Southorn Playground

The Southorn Playground was built on the reclaimed land in Wanchai, on Hong Kong Island. It was opened by Sir Thomas Southorn on 12th July 1934.

On 8th January 2011, the playground served as a venue for an open-air cinema programmes organized by the Southern Film Company Limited and the Cultural and Leisure Services Committee of the Wanchai District Council. The films shown at the programme was a Chinese film "Crazy N' the City" and four short films.

It is just my opinion, but do one-time showings of films in a recreational park really qualify the venue as a cinema or a theater? Many cities do this in some of their parks every summer, and I doubt if anyone would think of posting these sites here on CT.

Yes, I agree.
Though I do appreciate Raymond’s effort, it would be a much more fruitful contribution to work on “real” cinemas.
