A conversion of an existing hall, the People’s Electric Theatre was opened on 28th January 1911. All seating was on a single sloping floor.

The People’s Electric Theatre was closed in 1922. It was converted into a motor repair shop & garage in 1926. It has since been demolished and the land is used as a open air market.
