Regal Barnstaple

The Regal Cinema was opened on 30th August 1937. It was independently operated. It had a 30 feet wide proscenium, a 20 feet deep stage, and six dressing rooms.

The Regal Cinema was closed on 1st May 1982. In 1983, it was converted into a snooker club and retail use. It was later converted into a nightclub operating under several names: Babylon, Rockabillies, Coco, Club Tropicana, Kaos, Worx and most recently The Venue. It closed in April 2019 and the building was offered ‘For Sale’ for £225,000.
