The Northtown closed with 4 screens in 1998. I am not sure when the 4th screen was added but probably the mid 70’s.
It had 1 dolby in cinema 3 and after Southtown closed got the kintex for cinema 4. Cinema 3 had 325 seats and the other 3 each had right around 300. It still had the old red and white GC seats to the end. It was suggested when Southtown closed to send the seats there but it was shot down.
In 1996 a new 14 plex was planned to be built in the mall over buy Best Buy. After opening Northtown 4 was to be closed because it was only on a year to year lease. The deal on the new 14 plex fell apart and lost the lease on the old one.
