Not the best in theatre screen size. Only screens #8 & #9 are semi large. They turned their #8 into a XD screen and is not much larger then what they had up before and they charge $ more. The sound at all their cinemas here except the XD auditorium is very flat, no deep base not much surround volume. Went to see Murder Orient today in #10 and the seats are placed very close no leg room. When they built this place many years ago they cut back on neon ect. Needed to be a luxury 12 plex with large spaces but they put in very small 20 screens. Won’t be going back to this location in Redwood City. No masking at Century these days a sad place to watch a scope movie on a flat square screen with white showing above and below. Will take a AMC or Regal Theatre any day!.

The Redwood Downtown 20 is one of several multiplex projects designed for the Century chain by the San Diego architectural firm Fehlman LaBarre (partial list from Reed Construction Data.) The Fehlman LaBarre web site used to have information about their theater projects, but the domain name was allowed to lapse and is now a spam site, so avoid it.

Partner Mark Fehlman has retired from architecture to pursue a career as an artist, and partner Michael LaBarre has merged his practice with San Diego firm Carrier Johnson + CULTURE.
