Built in 1933-1934 on the site of a former Synagogue, this opened as a Synagogue, and was designed by architect Peter Behrens from Berlin, Germany. After World War II it became a cultural hall and then until 1992, a high school auditorium. It was then converted into the Kino Centrum.
This cinema was viewed in May 2011. It appears to have closed in late-2009 when a multi-screen City cinema opened in a new town centre shopping centre. The last film was “Coraline”, presented in 3D.
