The 1985 Canadian Film Digest shows the two twin-screeners, the Charlottetown Mall Cinemas and the Prince Edward Cinemas, under the Atlantic Theatres chain. Both theaters were later operated by Empire Theatres in the late-1980s. The Prince Edward Cinemas nearby closed in 1990 when two more screens were added at the Charlottetown Mall Cinemas.
