The last vintage theatre left of its kind in Panama. This theatre was previously the single screen Cine Mexico. It became the Cines Alhambra in 1997. This theatre chain has other theatres in Chanis and Plaza Agora. Both these theatres closed on January 31, 2012. These theatres closed due to poor attendances and because they are the only yester-year stand alone theatres left in Panama, whereas the newer megaplexes are all situated in malls where people traffic makes it a more profitable business.
Sadly the Cines Alhambra was closed on 4th March 2012.
