The Showtown Drive-In was built as a twin-screen theatre August 5, 1965 with Noreen Corcoran in “The Girls on the Beach” and Elvis Presley in “GI Blues” on screen 1 and Bob Hope in “I’ll Take Sweden” & Dean Martin in “All in a Night’s Work” on screen 2. It was demolished around 1995.

Was this at West Haven and Hwy 80? Still traces of a drive-in there.
Yes. Traces of the drive in are still there at Westhaven and Highway 80.

Actually, I believe the Sinclair gas station was on the NE side of the Westhaven/Hwy 80 intersection and the Super Slide was on the NW corner. The plastics company and buildings on the south side of the intersection have been there a long time. Showtown was further east on 80 toward Creshale’s.
This opened on August 5th, 1965. Its grand opening ad can be seen in the photo section.
Screen 1 was called Bulldog, and screen 2 was called Rebel. Opened on 5/8/1965 on screen 1 with “Girls on the beach” and “G.I. blues” on screen 2 with “I’ll take Sweden” and “All in a night’s work”.
This one had a long driveway (think Fairyland in KCMO). It is much further south than the old highway. Look for remains/skeleton. You can tell it was a twin!🤩🤩🤩
