Located in the centre of Palermo. The Cinema Astoria was opened in 1953. It has a rather plain exterior, but inside the building is an Art Deco style gem. The ceiling of the auditorium is very similar to the Odeon Muswell Hill, London, England, and has wide bands containing concealed lighting, which draw the eyes toward the proscenium. Seating is located in stalls and circle levels.
The Cinema Astoria was closed in 2008, and sits unused in 2012.
