Gaslight Theatre

Opened as the Jerry Lewis Cinema on April 14, 1971 with Michael Caine in “The Last Valley”. It was closed in 1975. Taken over by the Plitt Theatres chain it was renamed Coronado Theatre, reopening July 4, 1975 with Gene Wilder in “Young Frankenstein” & Tyan O'Neil in “Paper Moon”. It operated as a cinema until 1985.

In 1990, it was taken over by the Gaslight Theatre.

The Coronado Theatre is closed. A live (stage) theatre called the Gaslight Theatre now occupies the building (http://www.thegaslighttheatre.com).

According to property records here:http://www.propertyshark.com/mason/Property/70125440/7010-E-Broadway-Blvd-Tucson-AZ-85710/, the current building was built in 1991.

July 4th, 1975 grand opening ad as Coronado can be found in the photo section for this cinema.

Opened on 14/4/1971 with “The last valley”. Opened(as Coronado) on 4/7/1975 with “Young Frankenstein” and “Paper moon”.
