Formerly a miners' institute constructed and opened in 1926. Closed in 1972 and abandoned for many years. restored in mid-1990’s using various government grants and funding to a total of about 2.3 million sterling.
Now a vibrant community centre hosting stage and cinema shows. Has an above balcony mounted Sony projector.
