Above the suspended ceiling of the supermarket the circle has been extended forwards to create a warehouse/stockroom. The stepped floor of the circle is still there as are the portals of the projection room.

Yes this is correct that the Tesco Metro have converted the original building.Its been a tesco since i moved to the area in 1986.

This is a picture of the former Regal Theatre in Ormskirk. I don not think the building was demolished, but rather that the supermarket occupies the the building that housed the theatre.
