Opened prior to 1955, this small one-screen drive-in theatre, bordered by Route 40 (Stagecoach Road) and old Route 501 (Drive-in Road) to the north of Nathalie. Concession stand and ticket office were in same small building at entrance. An old wooden fence bounded the theatre on both roads. There were benches for people to sit on at the front. The audio system consisted of the old the stands with speakers to mount on the car doors.
Called Tri-County because it was located in Halifax County and near to both Campbell and Charlotte Counties. The screen was destroyed by a storm on November 2, 1964. I believe that area is now used for trash pick-up.

My father took me to see “Bonnie & Clyde” as well as “Bullitt” there. My mother & sister sat in the back & went to sleep on “Bullitt.”
Looks like the little box office is still standing on its last legs from the 2013 Google street view.
Boxoffice, Nov. 2, 1964: “A storm of hurricane force blew the screens down at the Tri-County Drive-In, Nathalie, Va., and the Alta Vista Drive-In.”
A slightly closer address is 1051 Drive in Rd, Nathalie, VA.
Google Maps has updated their addresses and this puts it right in the middle of the property.
Apart from the outline and entrance, there is not much left. The box office may or may not be there.
