Located in the small town of Glossop, Derbyshire. The Glossop Electric Palace was opened on 23rd December 1911. It was operated by Thomas Allen Edwardes. Initially operating as a live theatre with some cinema use, it eventually became a full time cinema.
It became part of the Provincial Cinematograph Theatres Ltd.(PCT) chain, and in February 1929 they were taken over by the Gaumont British Theatres chain.
The Palace Theatre was closed around 1931. In December 1936, the building was sold to Glossop Corporation who planned a new bus station and waiting rooms on the site which never happened. It was demolished in 1959 and Glossop Primary Care Centre was built on the site.
