The Imperial Theatre was opened in February 1927. It was designed by Cleveland based architect Nicola Petti. It was equipped with a Kimball 2 manual organ which was opened by organist Edwin Paddock. The organ was removed from the building in 1938 and was installed in the St. John Hess Lutheran Church, Youngstown OH where it is still played today.
The Imperial Theatre was still open in 1952, but had closed by 1955.

The Imperial Theatre housed a 2 Manual Kimball Theatre Organ. My Great Grandfather was a member of St. John Hess Lutheran Church in Youngstown, Ohio. In 1938, he assisted other members in the removal and re-installation of the organ in the church, where it has been restored and is still played today (2014). My firm, Victor Organ Company still maintains this fine instrument.
Ross Hunter, who made a lot of schlock in Hollywood (Doris Day-Rock Hudson films and the disastrous remake of Lost Horizon) once was an usher here.
Looks like it was demolished long ago. Site is now a Family Dollar store - this is a fairly run-down section of the city.
