The Barbur Boulevard Drive-In was opened in 1950 with Robert Mitcham in “Holiday Affair” & Alan Ladd in “Captain Carey U.S.A.”, and was operated by Bernard Galitzi of Oregon Theatres Co-Op.
It was closed in 1956, and later demolished. The site now serves as a maintenance yard.

Thanks for putting this up! My ex-boss for the Oregonian (who just passed away, r.i.p.) used to tell me about this place. I decided to do a little digging and figured it was gone long before I was around. Sure was!
Opened with “Holiday affair” and “Captain Carey U.S.A.”.
A more accurate address for this theater would be 9600 SW 35th Ave, Portland, OR 97219. This points to the property that is where the east half of the drive in stood. The west half was taken out by Interstate 5. The theater entrance was on Taylors Ferry Rd which has been cut off by the freeway.
Please update.
Correction: Now ODOT maintenance yard @ 9498 SW Barbur Blvd, Portland, OR 97219. This points the entrance which was on the other side of Hwy 5.
Please update.
