Located in the Morris Hills Shopping Center. This theatre was opened on August 2, 1967 with Sidney Poitier in “To Sir, With Love”. It was operated by General Cinema Corporation. It may have stood close to the location of today’s Parsippany Cinema 12. On June 22, 1973 this theatre was split in half with a wall down the middle to create a twin cinema. It was pretty much a standard GCC design for that time period. It was closed on September 27, 1987.

I remember once in the late 1970’s I had to go get supplies from this theatre and it had a huge chandelier that hung in the lobby and could be seen from rte. 46. The front of the building was all glass.
This opened on August 2nd, 1967. Grand opening ad in the photo section.
and twinned on June 22nd, 1973. Another ad posted.
The theatre closed on September 27, 1987 with “Tough Guys Don’t Dance” and “Snow White” splitting with “The Big Easy”. Star Cinema Circuit operated the theatre for its final six years after General Cinema left. It closed at the end of its 20-year lease.
