The Avenue Theatre opened October 18, 1934. The 778-seat single-screen house was later taken over by Odeon Theatres and reopened April 7, 1950 with Larry Parks in “Jolson Sings Again”. It was operated by Odeon until 1982, when Famous Players took over operations. The Avenue Theatre closed in 1986 and was converted into live performance use, which closed in June 2014.

The Demolished status should be removed from this article, as I found a Facebook page that features the Avenue, which was not demolished but most recently operated as a live theatre and concert venue:

This one first opened on October 18, 1934.
There was apparently an earlier incarnation of the Avenue Theatre, originally opened as Rose Theatre circa 1913 at 9420 118th Avenue.
