Located in the northeast of the city between the Gare de Lyon and the Bastille. The Lyon Palace opened in 1919. In the early-1930’s it was taken over by Pathe and re-named Lyon-Pathe. The seating capacity in the single auditorium was 1,200.
By 1967 it had been renamed Liberte and was operated by Gaumont. It was converted into a twin to the plans of architect M.A. Wang in 1971. Seating was provided for 600 & 300. It was taken over by UGC and renamed UGC Gare de Lyon. By 1985 it had been converted into a five screen complex. Screen 1 had 300 seats, screen 2 had 350 seats, screens 3,4 & 5 seated between 100 to 200. Screen 6 was later created to seat 171. Since 1993 it has operated as a 7-screen cinema.
