The Cinema Le Capitol opened in the early-1930’s as a single-screen theatre seating 928. The Cinema Le Capitol was acquired by the Odeon chain in 1945, then by Bessette & Blanchard in 1984.
In 1996, new owners took over the Cinema Le Capitol and split it into six screens, each seating 138, 198, 129, 129, 164 and 75 for a total of 819 seats. Galaxy Cinemas took over ownership in 2002, followed by current owner Cineplex Entertainment.
