This theater replaced the old Barton Creek 5 that was condemned due to structural failure. The Barton Creek Square 14 was built by General Cinema and opened on May 28, 1999 with 2,900-seats. In 2002 it was taken over by AMC. It contains lots of THX sound systems and recliner seats in its auditoriums. It also has festive party rooms.

This multiplex has the smallest “IMAX” screen in Texas at just 45' x 25'.
Several photos added of the VERY small IMAX theater, Dolby Cinema #2 and auditoriums #4 and #8 during a visit in March, 2018.
UFAlien is on the money about the IMAX theater; not only is it a small screen but it looks really “tacked on” and cheaply constructed. I also didn’t find the image or sound to be that great either. Dolby #2 and auds #3-14 all have been renovated with the standard AMC red recliners, while IMAX still has its old seats. Several rows were also removed for sight-line issues.
Please update, theatre opened on May 28, 1999 (Grand Opening ad in the photos section) and total seats is 1,034, was reduced a while back ago with the installation of AMC Signature Recliners except IMAX
