Pontotoc Drive-In

The Drive-In was opened by 1955 when it was operated by Joseph Chambers. The car capacity was listed at 218. Later renamed Pontotoc Drive-In, it was still operating in 1998. Doing an aerial the outline of the drive-in is still quite visible.

The screen and projection booth/concession stand are still intact at least as of 2014. Plus, if the marquee is accurate, then the drive-in lasted well into the 90s as “Good Burger” was released in 1997.

Here is an article about the Pontotoc Drive-In dated June 28, 1998. The drive-in was still open at that time.

A May 2024 Google Street View shows the screen becoming engulfed by the trees. And the projection booth/concession stand is still standing, but in shambles.

A 1955 aerial view does show the drive-in operating, meaning that the theater had been operating since either 1955 or beforehand.
