The Cinema I & II Opened Its Doors On March 4th, 1972 With Diamonds Are Forever On Screen 1 And The French Connection On Screen 2. It Was A Twin First-Run Theater Until The Middle Of May 1987, Where Renovations Were Constructed At Screen #2, And Divided To Make Way For A Triplex And Became A 3-Screener In June 1987. When The 7-Plex Located A Block Away Opened In The Early Summer Of 1995, The 3-Screener Location Closed, But Reopened For A Brief Time On June 27th, 1997 And Closed Afterwards. Nowadays The Building Was Still There And Was Placed On Sale For Office Space.

I saw “The Untouchables” and “Rivers Edge” there in 1987 with my first girlfriend. Sorry to hear it didn’t make it.

This theatre has been closed for a few years now. It originally was a twin, then one side was split again to make it three. There is a new theatre next door—called Cinema 7.
