The Star Theatre opened in 1949. Seating was listed at 300. This was a “B” house theatre. It closed in 1958 and was reopened in 1969 as an adult theatre. It had two screens by 1981 and was closed in 1983. Nor sure if the building at this address housed the theatre but it is now a ladies boutique.

The Star Theatre was actually located where Cafe Pasta is now. The interior is only half of the original theatre, but you can easily see from the layout that it used to be a theatre. The owner of the restaurant, Ray Essa has a few posters from the Star Theatre hanging in his office that were there when he first started his lease in the late 80’s/early 90’s.
