The Capitol Theatre was open as early as 1930. Seating was listed at 400. It was originally owned by Mr. Leo Keiler and later by Columbia Amusement Co. After the Varsity Theatre was destroyed by a fire in 1962 all operations for Columbia Amusements was moved to the Capitol Theatre. It was sold to Mr. Bob Cravin in 1963 who also ownd the Murray Drive-In. The Capitol Theatre was still open in 1966.

The Capitol was open until at least 1966.Probably closed in 1967 when the Cheri Theater opened.
