The I-77 Drive-in was located right beside I-77 and the entrance was off Salisbury Road in Statesville.
The I-77 Drive-In was opened June 22, 1972 with Sean Connery in “Diamonds are Forever”. It closed at the end of the 1986 season.
Currently, all drive-in related buildings and the screen have been demolished. In an aerial view you can see the classic drive-in shape of the property and a good idea where the screen once was. The property was being used for storage container storage and in January 2019 was being transormed into a car dealership.

Does anyone know about a Statesville Drive-In, probably open in the late 1940s or early 1950s?
Grand opening was June 22, 1972 with “Diamonds Are Forever”, starring Sean Connery…followed by “Support Your Local Sheriff”, starring James Garner
This property, which has continued to look like a drive-in property with the ramps in tact off I-77 since closure, is currently being developed into a car dealership for Randy Marion.
A Randy Marion car dealership now occupies the property.
Last season: 1986.
