This drive-in was opened on May 24, 1948, by J.W. Martin and Staley Pinkston. It was Salisbury and Rowan County’s first drive-in theater. The first showing was “Easy to Wed” with Esther Williams and Van Johnson.
The screen was expanded on June 5, 1954, to accommodate CinemaScope. The drive-in closed on April 23, 1972.
The location is now the Innes Street Market.
