This theater is still standing in a deserted shopping center in Kenner. At one time a Gym was supposed to open there but that was before Katrina hit. I haven’t heard anything since. I saw “Malcolm X” and Forrest Gump there. At one time it was a nice little theater.
If it was renamed when UA took over — who built it? Gulf States?
This was opened by UA. Its name in its early life was, simply, The United Artists.
My brother and I saw Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey there in 1991.
Grand opening ad posted.
