Now the ONLY theatre in downtown Kingston! Since Empire abandoned that lovely Capitol 7 and fled to the northern suburbs, but now won’t even be an Empire anymore.
This opened as the Super Flicks & Food, opening on January 5, 1996 with the triple feature of “Babe”, “Fair Game”, and “Copycat”. It originally planned to open three days beforehand but was postponed for unknown reasons. The theater’s name was shortened to Superflicks before closing on June 6, 1998 with “City Of Angels” and “Goodwill Hunting”.
On March 30, 1999, the theater was twinned and reopened as the Screening Room, reopening with “Life Is Beautiful” in Screen 1 and a double feature of “Gods & Monsters” and “Rushmore”.
