Located in the north Hamburg district of Eimsbuttlel. The Central Theater was opened as a concert hall in 1911 with seating in orchestra & balcony levels. In 1913 it was converted into a cinema. Remodelled in 1932, it was badly damaged by Allied bombs in 1943 during World War II.
Rebuilt in 1949, it was open again in August 1950. Seating was provided for 556 in the orchestra and 201 in the balcony. Renovated in 1954 and equipped with CinemaScope, the E VII B projectors were by Ernemann. In 1956 CinemaScope was installed. In 1958 the projetors were replaced by Ernemann X. It was closed in 1963. In the 1980’s the building was restored and converted into a gymnasium.
