The Royal Theatre was opened by 1907 and was still operating in 1915. By 1926 it had been renamed Strand Theatre. By 1950, it had been taken over by Alliance Theaters Corp, but appears to have soon closed. The Strand Theatre was demolished in 1960.

A line near the end of this Facebook post says: “In 1960 the Strand Theatre on the SE corner of 6th and Main was razed.”
The caption included with the circa 1907 picture above reads “Royal Theatre (later renamed the Strand), on the SE corner of Sixth Street Vincennes, Indiana.
