Built as an upgraded replacement to the Crossroads 2 Theatre, located further along Tyrone Boulevard N. The Crossroads 8 Theatres was opened November 20, 1987. Two of its screens were THX certified, and it was the first theatre in the area to install Dolby Digital sound.

I was really surprised when they demolished this theater because it was still firly new.
Screens 1 and 2 (to the far left as you entered) were THX Sound Systems and capable of 70MM screenings.
The THX trailer that ran in 1988-1990 on those two screens before every movie.

Screens 3-8 had Smart Sound and all screens had Christe projection and AW3 platter system (ugh, another brain wrap).
