Located in Sheerness, Kent. The Oxford Cinema opened in December 1916 for the Oxford Electric Company. It was designed by Canterbury based architect F.H. Dore. More advanced than early halls with a raked floor and canopy outside.
The huge increase in cinema provision in the town caused closure on the 25th July 1937. Uses since then have varied. A bingo club operated until a fire broke out in 1977. It later became a microcomputer centre, a shopping arcade but is now (2014) Busy B’s Carpet & Furniture store.
