It was one of two locations that Famous used the reversing Cinemecanica Victoria 8 projectors that at the end of the 6000 foot reel (one hour) the changeover occured and the out going machine ran backwards so there was no need to rethread The spool boxes could hold a 36" reel that could hold a 90 min feature The Automation was Cinemation MK4

An ad for ZARDOZ at the Bramalea 3 has been installed in the photo section. This ad appeared in the Toronto Star March 22, 1974.

That’s correct, truenorth. Apparently even the giant silver pipes which hung from the ceiling in the mall were stashed there during the 1989 renovations and are still there.

According to various sources, the “guts” of this theater are still there. The theater was gutted, but the space still exists behind the stores (Dollarama, PJ’s Pets) that exist in the hallway by that entrance.

Never expanded to 4 screens. Mike Wells was the first manager.

I seem to remember that the Bramalea only had 3 screens, wasn’t aware that they expanded to 4. It had only 3 when I used to go there. Square One had 4.
