Lombard Theatre, Portland, Oregon

Located on N. Lombard Street to the west of N. Albina Avenue. The 400-seat Rose Theatre was built in 1924. It was still operating in 1929. By 1931 it had been renamed Lombard Theatre with a seating capacity for 256-seats and was listed as (Closed) in the 1932 edition of Film Daily Yearbook.

The 418-seat Lombard Theatre was reopened by 1950 and was still open in late-1965. It ended its days as an adult movie theatre which closed in mis-September 1972.

Closed in mid-September 1972, last operated as an adult theater.

This is shown in the wrong location on the map. It should be at 842 N Lombard St, about halfway between N Mississippi Ave and N Albina Ave, but the map appears to be showing it around where 842 “NE” Lombard St would be, about 16 blocks to the east. Anyway, the building is still there, but it’s been a tire shop for a long time and has been stripped of most traces of its past as a movie theater, but you can still recognize it as a movie theater from the facade shape.
