This was a weird drive in theater in Portland’s Jantzen’s Beach suburb. It was a race track with a movie screen and opened August 30, 1946 with Randolph Scott in “The Desperados”. It was closed in 1979.

The Amphitheatre Drive-In’s capacity was 600 cars.
This opened on August 30th, 1946, the first in the Portland area. Grand opening ad uploaded here.
Approx. address for the drive-in and racetrack (next to existing racetrack) 9403 North Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard.
The property is now used for truck/big rig storage.

The correct name for this theater is the Portland Drive-In Amphitheater. The historic address was 9727 NE Union Ave. Today that corresponds to 9727 NE Martin Luther King.
