The Sunset Drive-In opened on June 23, 1950 with Susan Haywood in “Tulsa”. The car capacity was 300 and the drive-in was owned by William Schirusky. The screen was destroyed by a storm on June 15, 1956. A new screen was built in July 1956. It was still listed as open in 1979.

Found it. The Drive-In is located at 2888 US 2 (Google) on the east side of the town. The screen is still intact. https://goo.gl/maps/3xyFA
The address listed is slightly incorrect.
The address for this Drive-in is 2810 US-2, Havre, MT 59501.
Several ramps are still visible as well.

so is the concession stand. its still standing there. it wouldn’t be hard to reopen this one. just some hard work. hard work that we seem to have forgoten exists in america. oh well
The July 22, 1950 issue of BoxOffice reported, “Grand opening of the Sunset Drive-In was held (in Havre) recently. Owned by Emil Don Tigny and Clarence Golder, the airer is located on Highway 2 and has a capacity of 300 cars. The screen is 50 by 37½ feet and is strong enough to resist winds over 100 miles per hours. Motiograph microphonic sound equipment has been installed at the airer.”
Boxoffice, June 23, 1979: “Wayne Marketing has taken over the buying and booking for the Sunset Drive-In, Havre, Mont., operated by Norman Costin.”
