Opened on January 12, 1990 as a first run complex. When Cinemark opened its new 16 screen location at the Fayette Mall in 2006 the Movies 8 ran art product for a while from June 30, 2006. That idea did not pan out, and Movies 8 went subrun. The theatre closed on April 20, 2014 and is now used as office space.

When opened, admission was a dollar less.
Reopened as an art-house on June 30th, 2006. Another ad posted.
