FYI Cinemark Victorville 10 is also closed due to CinemarkVictor Valley Mall 16 and XD across Hwy 15 also on Bear Valley Rd.

To make matters worse, Cinemark later opened Cinemark Jess Ranch 14 in nearby Apple Valley CA also on Bear Valley Rd to the sast. 😔😔😔

Moved to the area in 1998, and saw a few films here. The only two that come to mind are “There’s Something About Mary” and “Lethal Weapon 4.” What I recall about the dĂ©cor was that they had a lot of black-and-white checkered tile everywhere, which made the lobby look like a fancy/tacky bathroom (while it may have been fashionable at one time).

Wasn’t a bad place to see movies, but AMC opened West Oaks at the mall about a mile away and it was the preferable (brand new) location. Plus with the theater tucked back off the main road, it wasn’t really noticeable. It wasn’t until years after it closed that I realized it was gone. The West Orange theater just past West Oaks is just as tucked away, but had the benefit of playing artier fare and served food and beer/wine, so it attracted a dedicated crowd.

Too bad, regardless – while it’s still standing as a church now, I hate to see these businesses close up.

This opened on November 20th, 1992 by Cinemark as Movies 12 and renamed Highland Lakes 12 on November 20th, 1998 as AMC took it over. Both grand opening ads in the photo section.
