“ MEGA-PLEX TASCHEREAU 18
I don’t know exactly where I am on the South Shore. On Taschereau Boulevard, everything is mixed together: a succession of cloned restaurants, separated by huge parking lots. But here I am in front of the cinema. The facade, marked by time, also displays its share of burnt-out light bulbs and graffiti under the awning. However, inside, surprise: it is not the gloomy decor I expected. Better still, a line stretches out in front of the canteen. A handful of moviegoers, faithful to their post, ready to butter their fingers. Life, finally.”
Guzzo closed all its IMAX screens per official website (no showtimes). Willing to bet this cinema will not make it through 2025 as a Guzzo.
Also posted its French-language grand opening ad.
CorusFTW, when it opened it had to contend with the two big boys at the time, Famous Players and Cineplex Odeon, which had locations nearby.
Grand opening ad in French:
This theatre’s opening movies include Apt Pupil (Dolby Digital), Air Bud: Golden Receiver (Dolby Stereo), Blade (Dolby Digital), Bride of Chucky (Dolby Digital), Dance with Me (Dolby Digital), Ever After (Dolby Digital), Madeline (Dolby Digital), Rounders (Dolby Digital), Saving Private Ryan (Dolby Digital), There’s Something About Mary (Dolby Digital) and Without Limits (Dolby Digital). I feel that when it opened, it was split between first-run and second-run movies.

Sorry, never mind the employee part since they are private security guards not some teenage employee.
Dumb idea, violating someone’s privacy e.g. a paying customer. Also the cinema chain forcing its employees doing something that they are not comfortable with. The best to deal with the problem is send an usher to check in the theatre once in a while without violating someone’s privacy.
Cinema ordered to pay $10K in damages for search
A Quebec court has ordered a cinema to pay $10,000 in damages after staff searched patrons' bags and turned up smuggled snacks and birth control pills — and in the process violated their privacy rights.
The incident happened in 2007 when a woman took her two daughters to Cinemas Guzzo in Montreal to watch the film “Shrek the Third,” said CTV Montreal’s Rob Lurie.
