Located in the Montparnasse district in the south of the city centre. Opened in 1910 as a live theatre annex to the Montparnasse Theatre to store scenery. Live theatre use in the 1920’s The Casino Montparnasse was opened prior to 1946. In 1962 it was re-named Texas followed by a period as the TransLux-Pullman Montparnasse following a renovation to the plans of architect M. Georges Peynet. Later taken over by Paramount as the Paramount Gaite, it was still a single screen cinema with 700-seats in orchestra and balcony levels in 1975. By the early-1980’s it had been tripled and re-named Espace Gaite. It was closed in 1987.
It became a sex shop with cabins screening adult porn DVD’s which had closed by 2022.
