YMCA Theatre

Moved from another location in North Street in 1988, the YMCA Theatre seats 290 in a single steeply raked tier.

Their mission is “All YMCAs are locally managed to respond to the needs of the community. In Scarborough we have developed a strong reputation for engaging people of all ages in a variety of activities including dance, singing, sport, arts and volunteering, as well as on- and off-stage opportunities in our 290-seat community theatre”.

The theatre was equipped with 35mm projection equipment and during the summer months would screen whole weeks of film, but this has now ceased and the theatre is kept busy with live productions.
