Studio 1

Studio 1 opened in 1968 as a modern 230 seat theatre focused on the students during weekdays, and the teachers in the week-end. The programming was lateral, with different movies at different hours, until the patronage in Belgium could go in whenever they wanted, and stay as long as they wanted.

In the 1980’s another screen was added: the ‘Studioke’ with 85 seats.

In 2004 another screen was added in the Studio 2 cinema close by in the same street, making it a 4-screen theatre, and Studio 1 closed down.

The Studio 1 is still intact and everything is in perfect working condition in 2015, it’s being used sometimes for private screenings, or a festival.
