The Rex is a more recent movie theatre in Leuven. It opened in the Bondgenoten Street near the Forum in June 1956 with James Stewart in “The Man Who Knew Too Much”. It showed block busters with great success “The Bridge on the River Kwai”, the 3-early James Bond films, “Doctor Zhivago”. It closed in 1981 together with the Cine Lovanium, and was demolished to become a C&A department store on the site.
