In 1933 architectural firm Drury & Gomersall were contracted to make alterations to the building which included additional stage accommodation, new lighting and a new ceiling in the auditorium with new decorations. In 1935 architectural firm Belshaw & Gomersall did further alterations and to two lock-up shops.
